APRIL 22: Acres of Clams, a new film on the Clamshell Alliance
The New England-wide Clamshell Alliance, in the 1970s, organized massive nonviolent occupations at the nuclear power facility planned for Seabrook, NH, and sparked similar alliances nationwide. Within six months, we trained 20,000 people in nonviolent direct action who formed into affinity groups. In 2025, as we rise against the innumerable harms of the current regime, our history speaks to us today.
Acres of Clams, a new movie about this famous direct-action campaign, combines archival film footage, humor, and music with the remembrances of the activists. It shows how, when people take action together, we can have an out-sized impact on the world.
Come see Acres of Clams! Tuesday, April 22, at 6:30 pm. Greenfield Garden Cinemas on Earth Day, Admission $5. www.clamshellalliance.com; info@clamshellalliance.org

AT-HOME ACTIONS FOR NATIONAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT

HOW TO CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS

NATIONAL ACTIONS

Protest Illegal Deportations - Kilmer Abrego Garcia - The Trump administration has unlawfully deported hundreds of Venezuelan immigrants to El Salvador, many without due process. So it’s not surprising that they may have made some mistakes.
Call US Officials to demand that Chuck Schumer step down as the Senate Minority Leader.

Call and Write to US Officials to demand that they oppose the "Silencing Americans Act," otherwise known at the SAVE Act, that threatens to take the vote away from millions of Americans.
Calll US Officials to Protect Public Health: Oppose HHS Workforce and Program Cuts. Our strength is our ability to stand tall in the face of chaos. RFK is undermining our public health, and we need to stand tall to stop it.

Call US Officials to Stop the Tariffs of King Donald. There is bipartisan support for stopping these tariffs, but our Congresspeople need the will to force congressional members to get on the record with their votes. TAKE THIS ACTION NOW to stop the "Tariffs of King Donald."

MASSACHUSETT-FOCUSED ACTIONS
Protect Trans Kids - Vote NO on Amendment 81 to H.4005 - “Democrats used a procedural motion to water the sports ban down rather than kill it outright out of fear of taking a vote and putting members on record.” - Erin in the Morning
Contact your local Dem Town Committee re: Call-to-action Letter - As national Democrats have struggled to respond to the deluge of Trump’s unconstitutional and illegal actions, Massachusetts activists are urging our MA congressional delegation to DO MORE!
Call MA Officials to Protect Our Health. No, it's not an illusion. We want you to call BOTH your US Elected Officials and your MA Elected Officials on these similar issues. Why? Because our national health is really important!
Contact your MA State Elected Officials to Support Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) Funding. This action will help you feed your neighbors with nutritious food. Please fit this one into your busy schedule.
